On the one hand, mankind continues to make high consumption of the resources on the earth; on the other hand, they continuously discharge various pollutants which increase the environmental load, so global disasters ares inevitable. To contend with the challenges facing the world including climate change and exhaustion of natural resources, sustainable development is increasingly becoming the solution to global problems in the 21st century. In Chaozhou, Guangdong of China, the rapid development of the ceramic industry is accompanied with the increase in the amount of ceramic waste, and Chaozhou supplies 70% of the total daily-use ceramic commodity for the world. It became the world's largest daily-use ceramics production base. It is hard to imagine the number of wasted ceramics behind the production! A recycling plant in Chao'an recovers 1,000 tons of waste ceramics per year. This is not only a cross section of ceramics industry in Chaozhou, but also the aftereffect of uneven global economic development. This is the garbage of China as well as the world. Sustainable development is not only an environmental issue, but also an approach to comprehensive understanding and decision-making, consisting of security, durability, practicality and economic feasibility, environmental compatibility and social responsibility. We keep on moving along the way to explore whether there are more possibilities. From the point of view of resource availability, technical and economic feasibility, environmental compatibility and other factors, the wasted daily ceramics which can’t be degraded and re-used are smashed for re-utilization. After the experiment of constant proportion of material, we mix the recycled wasted daily ceramics of about 40% with the high-performance concrete prepared, and carry out mass production. From the perspective of huge demand, we? involve recycled materials into it, so as to truly consume non-biodegradable ceramics and make the real impact on social reality.
