The Kobe landmark Kobe Port Tower was reopened in spring 2024 after the completion of seismic reinforcement work.The space a system was created in which the red hue gradually gets deeper along the flow line, unconsciously guiding visitors to the red that is visible further inside.Gleaming red in the night sky, Kobe Port Tower seems to possess a power that attracts visitors to the city. As a theme for the wayfinding design of this project, we decided to make use of the attractive force of the tower’s red color.Given the complex flow lines and the fact that the facility is a tourist attraction, our objective was to allow visitors to move naturally and smoothly as they are guided by the red, while happily chatting, without the need to consciously or precisely read textual information.
